SOIL

  • Soil is the top layer of the Earth where plants grow, made of minerals, organic matter, water, air, and tiny organisms.
  • It supports plant life, filters water, and plays a key role in the environmet.

TYPES OF SOIL

The four main types of soil are:

  1. Sand – Coarse, well-draining soil with large particles.

  2. Clay – Fine, dense soil that retains water and nutrients.

  3. Silt – Smooth, fertile soil with small particles, retains moisture well.

  4. Loam – A balanced mixture of sand, silt, and clay, ideal for plant growth.
